Knowledge of the application of galvanized steel

  • Time:2026-05-29
The surface of the galvanized steel sheet is uniquely smooth, flat and features a gorgeous spangle pattern, with a base color of bright silver white. Thanks to its special alloy plating structure, it offers excellent corrosion resistance. The normal service life of aluminum-zinc coated steel plate can reach up to 25 years, with outstanding heat resistance that allows continuous use in high-temperature environments up to 315°C. It also demonstrates excellent adhesion with paint films and superior processing performance, making it easy to stamp, shear, weld, and perform other fabrication processes.

The surface conductivity is excellent. Galvanized steel is widely known in the market as galvanized sheet, galvanized steel sheet, hot-dip galvanized sheet, galvanized coiled sheet, galvanized iron sheet, and tinplate.

The coating composition consists of approximately 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon by weight ratio. This is produced through a continuous hot-dip alloy coating process. Compared with ordinary galvanized steel sheets of the same thickness, the 55% aluminum-zinc alloy coated galvanized steel sheet provides significantly superior corrosion resistance in the same environment. In addition to strong corrosion protection, it also offers excellent adhesion and flexibility.

Knowledge of the application of galvanized steel

Construction field: Widely used in roofs, walls, garages, soundproof walls, pipes, and prefabricated houses. It is a preferred material for modern building envelopes due to its durability and weather resistance.

Automotive industry: Commonly applied in mufflers, exhaust pipes, wiper attachments, fuel tanks, and truck boxes, providing good heat and corrosion resistance.

Household appliances: Used in refrigerators, backboards, gas stoves, air conditioners, microwave ovens, LCD frames, CRT explosion-proof belts, LED backlights, and electrical cabinets.

Agricultural and other applications: Includes pig houses, chicken houses, granaries, greenhouse pipes, thermal insulation covers, heat exchangers, dryers, and water heaters.

This material combines long service life, excellent processing performance, and cost-effectiveness, making it one of the most popular coated steel products in construction, manufacturing, and agricultural sectors worldwide.
